In the first semester of 2019, 23 environmental impact studies were presented for the construction of water purification plants, sewers, wastewater plants and other complementary works in the countries of the region, projects valued at $290 million.
The interactive platform "Construction in Central America", compiled by the Business Intelligence Unit at CentralAmericaData, includes an up to date list of public and private construction projects for which environmental impact studies (EIA) were submitted to the respective institutions of each country.
With a loan from the IDB, the improvement program for a potable water and sewerage connection system will be carried out in the municipalities of Managua.
The resources will be executed through the Nicaraguan Water and Sewerage Company (Enacal), specifically in the improvement and sustainable management of drinking water and sanitation services in urban and peripheral areas.

The Central American Bank for Economic Integration has granted a loan to finance part of the program of works on Sustainability of Rural Water and Sanitation.
