Taiwanese businessmen will be visiting San Salvador on April 7 to explore business opportunities with local companies.
The event will be held at the Hilton Princess Hotel, from 8:00 am to 5:30 pm
"...12 Taiwanese companies will make up the mission and come from diverse industries, which will feature products including interior and exterior lighting, lights and marine equipment, water heaters and solar power providers, energy saving systems, rearview vehicle cameras, tire pressure sensors, electrical materials and accessories for home wiring, MP4, MP5, raw materials, accessories and machinery for the textile sector, shoes, bags and beds, equipment for all industries and for the preparation of floors and bamboo-based products. "
From February to June businessmen from both countries will conduct missions and trade fairs in El Salvador and in the Asian nation.
During the first half of 2014, the Taiwanese Embassy in El Salvador will promote six events aimed at strengthening trade relations between the two countries, said Carlos Cheng, Economic Minister Counselor of the Asian nation.
Sugar, coffee, fishmeal, plastics and paper products are the best selling products to the Asian island.
According to the Taiwanese Embassy in El Salvador during the first 11 months of 2013, exports from the Central American nation to Asian countries grew by 576 %. Among the products that are exported to Taiwan are sugar, coffee, fish meal, paper, cardboard, plastics.
NanYang Footwear is to invest $3 million in the country to produce footwear and export it to other markets.

The Taiwanese company engaged in the manufacture of footwear NanYang Footwear, in a clear commitment to El Salvador, started operations in the country by establishing and expand its subsidiary in the country under the name of ADI FOOTWEAR SA de CV, with an initial investment of $1.5 million, plus plans to invest an additional $1.5 million and carry out an expansion which will generate more than 1,000 new jobs over the next year.
An Asian trade mission is to come to El Salvador, with an eye toward potential business in machinery, beauty products, jewelry, construction materials, plastics and textiles.
Some 16 Taiwanese companies will arrive in El Salvador next week, with the aim of making deals with local companies. The visit will take place from 11 to 13 March, according to the Office of the Economic Counselor for the Chinese/Taiwanese Embassy.
