The Honduran government has annulled the contract awarded in January to the company Saisa for the construction of the terminal and announced they will put it out to tender again.
The project will be conducted under conditions different from those previously established, for this reason the cancellation of the contract was confirmed and it was clarified that the company given the award, Servicios Aeroportuarios Integrados S.A. (Saisa), "... no longer has the possibility of executing this work."
Five months after the $107 million works were awarded, the contractor has not yet signed the concession contract for the construction and operation of the airport.

The Honduran company Servicios Aeroportuarios Integrados S.A. (Saisa), a subsidiary of Terra Group, submitted the technical and financial offer after being shortlisted along with the consortium of Colombian origin Concay SA, who ultimately decided not to present a proposal for the construction of the new terminal.
