The Ministry of Health in Panama has announced a $20 million digital medical records project.
Elsiglo.com reports that Minister Javier Diaz, said that "the medical records of people who use the hospitals under the command of the Ministry of Health (MOH) will be digital starting next year."
The minister said that the project will cost $20 million.
This system will operate in 100 health facilities and will be connected to the digital platform for hospital information of the Social Security Department (CSS in Spanish).

The Instituto Costarricense de Electricidad bids digitalization of historical documents, for $1.5 million.
The contract comprises digitalizing approximately 20 million images with their corresponding indexes in order to better meet the needs of the company and to improve customer service.
