ABB OY signed an agreement with the National Power Company to supply power to 740 rural communities.
The agreement will improve supply and construction of sub-transmission lines and power distribution in rural areas.
CEO of the National Electricity Company (ENEE), Roberto Martínez Lozano, told Latribuna.hn: "The Investors have committed to provide all materials, fittings, conductors, poles, equipment, machinery, tools, accessories, skilled and unskilled labor, transportation and performance tests in accordance with provisions and specifications of the ENEE.”
The government of Taiwan delivered the required technical and engineering studies for building the hydroelectric power plant Patuca III.
Roberto Martín, Lozano, head of the National Energy Corporation (ENEE), explained that they are devising the project’s financial model: “for this the Government has some resources, we could maybe enter a public-private alliance”, he said.
The bidding rules to repair hydroelectric power plant “Francisco Morazán”, also known as “El Cajón”, are ready for publication.
Roberto Martínez Lozano, head of the National Electric Energy Corporation (ENEE), explained that they will invite domestic and foreign companies to participate in the project as soon as possible.
He told newspaper La Tribuna that they have asked the Executive’s to assist them in getting the required $10.6 million for the project, and that negotiations are underway with Japan International Cooperation Agency, the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank.
The National Electric Energy Company (ENEE) will build its new headquarters with a loan from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI).
ENEE is preparing the bidding rules for auctioning the building’s design.
Roberto Martínez, head of the institution, told newspaper La Tribuna that they want to have the building ready in two years, and that it will be located close to the offices of the External Relations ministry.
