A group of companies anounces the construction of a bus terminal in San Jose with 12 platforms, restaurants and commercial spaces with capacity for 7000 passengers per day.
The companies Grupo Zen and Portafolio Inmobiliario announced the planned construction of a bus terminal in downtown San Jose, with capacity for over 7000 passengers per day.

Industrial parks, shopping centers, office complexes and homes are the new developments announced by real estate groups.
Among the projects for this year include the extension of Avenida Escazú, the opening of Mango Plaza Mall in Alajuela and the inauguration of the fourth office tower El Cedral in Escazú, all scheduled for May. The same company, Portafolio Inmobiliario, is also building two restaurants at the Pez Vela Marina in Quepos and the second phase of Plaza Brasil in Heredia.
Inspired by the growth of Los Reyes, multiple residential developments are being built in vast areas.
Los Reyes was the first of its kind in Costa Rica. Located in a 324 hectare area in Alajuela, it combines residential solutions in large areas with other services like a club, swimming pool, golf, tennis and football facilities.
The property idea has grown and been followed by more residential projects, each with other integrated developments, the latest of which, Las Manzanas, is currently under construction.
Construction began on the new Lincoln Plaza shopping center, which will occupy an area of 34,000 square meters.
Located in Moravia (San Jose), the mall will open its doors in November 2012.
The shopping will have 200 stores in six levels seven restaurants, four cafes and cinemas, according to Silvia Casas, marketing manager of the project developer, Portafolio Inmobiliario.
6 new shopping centers are planned for 2011, including Plaza Lincoln and an expansion to “Avenida Escazú”.
Plaza Lincoln will be built in Moravia, in a 90.000 square meter area, starting in June. Sylvia Casas, marketing head at project developer Pinmsa, told Elfinancierocr.com that its construction should require 18 months.
Avenida Escazú, a mixed retail-office project also owned by Pinmsa, will add an additional tower in September, with eight stores and two restaurants.
Its first stage was officially inaugurated yesterday, comprising cinema, food court, coffee shops, businesses, offices and hotel.
The project is being developed by real estate company "Portafolio Inmobiliario" and will generate over 450 direct jobs.

For the end of this year, "Portafolio Inmobiliario" is planning to start works on "Plaza Lincoln", located in Moravia, San José.
With 180 stores, three level parking for 1.200 vehicles and a food court for 16 restaurants, Plaza Lincoln will become one of the three biggest malls in Costa Rica, with a total 90.000 square meters.
"After overcoming municipal obstacles that impeded its planned start for 2008, the developers of the new mall [Portafolio Inmobiliario - Pinmsa], expect to open it in 2011", published ElFinancierocr.com.
The 109-room hotel opened on June 12th, and it is the first Residence Inn by Marriott to be built outside the United States and Canada.
The hotel, which is property of Caribe Hospitality, is administrated by Marriott International and required an investment of more than $10 million.
According to Elfinacierocr.com, the hotel “...includes 109 rooms using the concept of “long stay,” 53 of which are studio suites, 46 one-bedroom suites and 10 that have two bedrooms. The novelty of these rooms is that they are 50% bigger than those of a traditional hotel.”
The real estate project "Avenida Escazú", to be launched in July includes the Residence Inn hotel, an area for movie theaters, shops and offices.
The Residence Inn hotel will open its doors in April with 100 rooms. In July, the first phase of the project, which includes several shops and 13 thousand square meters of office space, will be inaugurated.
