On October 20th, Pollo Campero inaugurated a new restaurant in Providence, in the state of Rhode Island.
This is the company's second restaurant in the New England Area.

Companies "Pollo Campero", "Go Green", "Los Cebollines" and "Tacontento" are studying this market for their expansion plans for 2010, reported Ricardo Camargo, secretary of the Brazilian Association of Franchises.
Camargo also told newspaper Prensalibre.com: "We are preparing a trip to Brazil to make contact with local entrepreneurs".

The Guatemalan company will open 5 new restaurants in the country in the first half of next year.
These new restaurants will be located in rural areas and will generate 100 jobs, said José Villalobos, commercial manager of the chain.

The new Pollo Campero restaurant located in Herón City shopping mall is the first store to open in Barcelona, and the third one in Spain.
Additionally, the chain announced its next international expansion plans in a press release, according to a report by Elperiodico.com.gt, indicating that "it plans to increase its network of restaurants into Indonesia, the first opening in Andorra, and its next arrival in the Arabic world in the hands of Jamal A. Al-Hazeem and the JA Holdingsgroup."

The Pollo Campero chain inaugurated a new branch at a Wal-Mart supercenter in the city of Roger, Arkansas.
This is the second Pollo Campero restaurant to open its doors in a Supercenter owned by Wal-Mart in the United States.

Juan José Gutiérrez, president of Pollo Campero, says current conditions in Guatemala and El Salvador are worrisome.
"We had budgeted 50 million dollars for investment in 2008, with 90 percent of it going to Guatemala and El Salvador," Gutiérrez said. "However, two weeks ago we decided to reduce that by more than half and invest the money in the United States."

Executives of Pollo Campero's US operation aim to open 20 restaurants in Wal-Mart stores nationwide by the end of next year. Wal-Mart favors the venture as it tries to reflect a more multi-cultural image in its stores.
The Spanish multi-national Eat Out and Pollo Campero signed an agreement on April 29 to form an alliance to expand the operations of both companies in Central America and Spain.
The companies created a new corporation, whose name was not revealed, in which Eat Out is the majority shareholder. Eat Out belongs to Grupo Agrolimen and Pollo Campero is part of the Guatemalan multi-national Multi Inversiones.
