According to the Ministry of Economy there are already ten public entities and one company interested in providing the service, which could be available in the first months of 2018.
Although it remains to be decided which company or public institutions will provide the service, the Ministry of Economy explained that the system could be ready to be used later this year or early next year.
The government announced that it will carry out a review of the goods produced locally and those imported, in order to evaluate the option of raising tariffs to "protect domestic production."
The government's proposal is to analyze what goods are produced in the country and which are imported in order to raise taxes on the entry of goods which are in direct competition with local production.Tharsis Lopez said"...'I asked for a study of those products manufactured here, either in free zones or outside of them, to see the levels of tariffs or taxes that have to be introduced on those products. Why?To increase these tariffs'. "
A law has come into force which grants legal equivalence to signatures in transactions made via electronic means.

VIJOSA laboratories has started construction of a plant for producing medicines in an area of 9 blocks in Santa Tecla, department of La Libertad.
The plant will be located in an area of 9 blocks on the road to Santa Tecla, and the work will be developed by the German company Bosch, which will build the project under the turnkey contract scheme.
A statement from the Salvadoran Ministry of Economy indicates that the new plant will have a world-class laboratory that will have seven buildings. The expansion plan of the company also includes complete renovation of the machinery.

In recent weeks the international prices of petroleum products recorded the following variations: -2,09% in special gasoline, -1,46% for regular gasoline and -3,53% in diesel.

During March, the price of WTI (West Texas Intermediate) in the Gulf Coast of the United States had an average value of $48.67 per barrel, which is a decrease of -1.93% compared to the previous month.
The Chinese tariff for unroasted coffee dropped from 50% to 8%, medicines decreased from 30% to 4%, fishmeal from 11% to 2% and plastics, from 50% to 6.5%.
