The Ministry of Public Works has announced a tender for repairs and maintenance of 11 Mabey or Bailey bridges.

A work schedule has been drawn up by the Ministry of Public Works to repair and maintain 11 vehicular bridges which are metal Mabey or Bailey bridges, located in the districts of Panama and San Miguelito.
An announcement has been made of the renovation of 130 kilometers of road and the start of analysis necessary to prepare the tender for the extension of 33 kilometers from the Concepcion-Volcan highway.

The Cabinet today announced the renovation of 130 kilometers of road in the districts of Renacimiento and Bugaba, Chiriqui province, as part of a development plan between local authorities and the Government.
A 25 kilometer section of road is part of infrastructure projects announced by the head of Public Works for the six districts in the province of Cocle.

The Ministry of Public Works (MOP) will build 25 kilometers of road in each of the six districts of the province of Cocle (Aguadulce, Anton, La Pintada, Penonomé, Nata and Olá) as part of a program that seeks to provide an immediate response to remote and productive communities in the country.
At the opening of the newly built bridge the government announced it will build a second bridge, for which tender preparations are currently being worked on.
Authorities at the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) said that the bridge which was built under the former administration cost approximately $6 million, and it is estimated that the new one will have a similar value.
It has been announced that it will be built north of the Bridge of the Americas and the tender conditions will be published in the next sixty days.

The fourth bridge over the Panama Canal will be built north of the Bridge of the Americas, announced the High Level Interagency Commission for the construction of the fourth bridge over the Canal and Line 3 of the Metro, headed by the President of the Republic, Juan Carlos Varela Rodríguez.
The verification commission has determined that none of the companies presented for the design of Specialized Technical Institute met the minimum requirements for the tender.
Although the tender is scheduled for the second half of the year, the Panamanian government is already promoting the work among firms in Europe and the United States.
Authorities at the Ministry of Public Works have promoted the project with companies from Germany, Italy and the US, with the aim of getting them to take part in the tender process for the construction of the fourth bridge over the Panama Canal, over which the Monorail Line 3 of the Panama Metro will pass.
The Ministry of Public Works has announced that in the first half of the year it will be putting out tenders for the construction of a road, a retaining wall in Bocas del Toro and expansion of roads in the capital.

During a session of the Cabinet Council held at the Center for Basic Education General IPT Marcos Alarcon Metetí, province of Darien, President Juan Carlos Varela Rodríguez announced the tender for the Agua Fria-Yaviza road and execution of projects with high community impact during 2015 worth approximately $81.4 million, with the aim of optimizing the fundamental basic services and integrating Darien province into national development.
Renovations, reconstruction of drainage works, road redesign, installation of lighting and traffic signals are part of the work is the tender to be realised in the coming months.
The first works include maintenance for the section between Plaza Agora in Pueblo Nuevo, and the district of Los Andes in Omar Torrijos and represent an investment of $15 million.
The government has approved for 2015 a tender for the construction of a sewage network and water treatment plant, roads and housing projects in various cities in the province.

During the session of the Cabinet Council held in the District of Mariato province of Veraguas, the President of the Republic, Juan Carlos Varela Rodríguez announced an agenda of projects that the government will develop in this province, to ensure the population has access to drinking water, basic sanitation and safe neighborhoods with decent housing, recreational areas and paved roads.
Preparations are being made for the release of tender specification at the beginning of 2015 for the expansion to four lanes of a highway 9 kilometers north of the capital, in Las Cumbres.
The road which reduces the distance between the north and east of the capital needs to have its existing structure renovated as well as construction of two additional lanes to improve the flow of the 800 vehicles which pass along it during peak traffic hours.
