Metro de Panama has started the process of selecting companies to participate in the tender to design and build Line 3 of the Panama Metro, with funding of $2.6 billion.

It is estimated that the tender for this Best Value megaproject will be launched in 2017.
The financing agreement signed between the governments of Panama and Japan includes a non-refundable $35 million for recruitment of the Project Management company.

Panama today finalized a landmark agreement with Japan for financing of up to B /. 2,600 million to be used for the construction of Line 3 of Metro de Panama, the country's largest public infrastructure project since the Canal Expansion.
The Ministry of Public Works concessions the design, construction and supply of 500 Metro Bus stops.
The Ministry of Public Works Public will tender the right to supply, install, maintain, preserve, develop, manage, use, usufruct, repair, replace, improve, build and operate 500 bus stops with the following characteristics:
-478 Standard Stops
-20 Pay Zones and / or Transfer Points
The Ministry of Works will award construction and management of Metrobus stops for $200 million.
Currently, Equipamientos Urbanos de Panamá (EUPAN) holds a contract with the Municipality of Panama City expiring in 2023.
With regards to the current contract the Minister of the Presidency, Demetrio Papadimitriu, explained that it is null and void because it was awarded by the Mayor´s office and current legislation stipulates that the power to award such contracts lies with the Ministry of Public Works (MOP ), reported Pa-digital.com.pa.
