The process of selecting a trustee bank has started in order to bring about the construction and maintenance of highways CA-4, CA-10 and CA-11, which require an investment of $245 million.
The Commission for Public-Private Partnerships (Coalianza), intends to form a public-private partnership to achieve the financing, construction, renovation, expansion, operation and maintenance of the road network in the departments of Cortes, Santa Barbara, Copan and Ocotepeque.
The Inter-American Development Bank has approved a loan to Honduras for $17.2 million to be used to support the expansion of the CA-5 North, the main highway in Honduras.

The Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) has announced the approval of a loan of $17.2 million to support the expansion and improvement of the CA-5 North, which is the main highway in Honduras.
The Government of Honduras is calling for expression of interest for contracts for studies and designs for the renovation of the highways - Oriental - Puerto Castilla and Acceso to Trujillo.
The services include the study and design for the renovation of the roads Oriental - Puerto Castilla and Acceso a Trujillo, approximately 50 kilometers.
The work will include, among other things, the following activities:
Representatives in the Honduran Congress have refused to vote for budget increases where contractors bid low for works only to later claim large cost increases.

The Italian construction company will manage the 1-B section of the ring road in the city of Tegucigalpa, at a cost of $20 million.
The National Congress has approved a contract with the company Astaldi, who was selected in a tender in which 24 companies participated, to complete the unfinished ring road in Tegucigalpa.
"It is estimated that construction of the 7.1 kilometers that make up section 1-B will take about 12 months, which means that the works should be completed in 2013. The National Congress has approved a $24 million loan for the completion of the "Tegucigalpa Peripheral Ring Road" project.

Finally, 22 years after the start "Tegucigalpa Peripheral Ring Road" project, people in the capital will see the completion of the works thanks to the National Congress’ approval of a $24 million loan (456 million lempiras).

The municipality of La Ceiba has initiated a road infrastructure project and it expects to award a contract to a company in August 2012.
The project consists of paving thirty kilometers of road surface, a bridge, construction of Calle Ocho and other complementary works needed to reduce congestion in the city.
The municipality intends to award the project in August 2012 and start work in December of the same year.
A $28 million BCIE loan for the completion of the C-5 North Highway and the Interconector Milenio has been approved and will be managed by Cuenta del Milenio – Honduras.

A full congressional session approved the loan to the order of $28 million which will be administered by the Cuenta del Milenio - Honduras to complement the expansion works and improvements to the CA-5 North Hightway and the construction of the Interconector Milenio .
The Central District Municipality in the capital is investing in projects to repave roads and construct new overpasses.
The announcement was made by Mayor Ricardo Alvarez who referred to the works which include renovation work on the streets of the historic center of Tegucigalpa, construction of an overpass at Hacienda-Suyapa, and expanding the Fuerzas Armadas boulevard to three lanes .
The country's Public Works Secretariat has announced investment in projects such as the "agricultural corridor", the "central highway" and the "capital ring road".
Miguel Pastor, head of the Honduran public works authority, stated that between $300 and $400 million will go toward infrastructure projects, financed by loans from the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI) and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), though these are yet to be confirmed.
