Through the new diplomatic headquarters in Beijing, the Salvadoran government aims to deepen relations with the Asian giant.
The opening of the Salvadoran government's embassy in China will help to further strengthen the relationship of friendship, trade and cooperation between the two nations, reported the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador.
Following the path chosen by its neighbors Panama and Costa Rica, the Salvadoran government has announced the opening of diplomatic relations with China and a rupture with Taiwan.
Reactions to the announcement by President Salvador Sánchez Cerén did not take long.The US government expressed its opposition, stating that the decision will bring negative consequences for El Salvador, while opposition politicians accused the government of wanting to ease the way for China to be granted the concession to operate the port of La Unión.
The first diplomatic headquarters that the Central American country is opening in the African continent will be located in Kenya.

April 6, 2018The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Manuel A. González Sanz, inaugurated the Embassy of Costa Rica in the Republic of Kenya in Africa and whose resident Ambassador is Marta Eugenia Juárez Ruiz.
Flights between the Asian country and Tocumen, a feasibility study to build a train to the border with Costa Rica and cooperation in financial, energy and maritime matters, are some of the results on offer from the agreements signed between the Chinese and Panamanian governments.
Since the breakdown of Panama's diplomatic relations with Taiwan and the new relationship with the Asian giant was announced in June of this year, the possibilities of creating and developing new business in Panama have multiplied, due to the implications that greater involvement in terms of investment by China would have for the country and the region.
With the recent establishment of diplomatic relations, the Panamanian government intends to encourage strategies to promote trade, investment, tourism and cooperation between the two countries.

The Government of the Republic of Panama, through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, considering that on June 13, 2017, the Republic of Panama established diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of China, wishes to report on the opening of the Panama Embassy in this Asian country, having previously fulfilled the formalities and terms of of its effect.
The Panamanian government intends to promote bilateral trade and use the country as a gateway to Africa.
With the opening of the embassy Panama will be able to explore new options for trade and commerce with Morocco.
The Deputy Foreign Minister of Panama, Mayra Arosemena told Prensa.com that "Moroccans have shown great interest in studying how Panama has managed to make its airport a hub or key continental link, something that could be done in Casablanca taking advantage of Morocco's position as a country uniting Africa and Europe.
In order to boost trade links and tourism, among other things, the embassy will open its doors on October 14.

It chose to set up the embassy in Panama because of the advantages offered by the country for the projection of Dutch investments in the region.

The installation ceremony of the Dutch Embassy in Panama brought together on Monday the Foreign Minister, Fernando Nunez Fabrega, and the Minister for Trade and Cooperation of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Lillian Ploumen, who expressed the satisfaction of both governments regarding the event which "is an undeniable symbol of excellent diplomatic relations".
Although Taiwan maintains its financial support with countries in the region, the rise of China as a trading power is forcing a diplomatic approach with the great Asian tiger.
An article in Laprensa.hn reports on the inevitable: "The Government of Honduras' flirtations with China are becoming more intense, and analysts point to the potential realization of trade and diplomatic relations, in an attempt to capitalize on the growing political and economic influence of the Asian giant in the countries of the region. "
While Obama's visit was mainly symbolic and dealt with long-term issues, the visit by Xi Jinping focussed on specific projects such as the $400 million for the route to Limon.
"In the evaluation of the visit by the Chinese President Xi Jinping to Costa Rica, the cooperation provided by the Asian president and the possibility of strengthening trade and diplomatic relations, there were many positive aspects.
Guatemala is seeking to consolidate its presence in Asia in order to explore new business, investment and cooperation opportunities.

The interest of the Republic of Guatemala in consolidating and improving the bilateral relationship with the Republic of India, beginning from the month of May 1972 has been realized with the opening of the Embassy of Guatemala in New Delhi, being officially established on 4 April of this year. The Republic of India set up its resident Embassy in Guatemala in 2011.
The diplomatic mission will be concurrently accredited to Central America, and the announced purpose is the narrowing of trade and diplomatic relations with the region.

The secretary general of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Morocco, Youssef Amrani, announced that for the first time this country will establish an embassy in Guatemala, due to the geographical and strategic position that is our nation.
In order to exploit the opportunities offered by the Chinese market, the Salvadoran government is studying a way to do it without affecting relations with Taiwan.
A study of relations with People's Republic of China, conducted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of El Salvador concluded that for this year, 2013, the country could open a commercial office in the Asian nation.
