Sauces and preparations, flavorings for food, fruit preserves, animal feed and cleaning products are some of the goods where there are opportunities in the Finnish market.

Finland is the 13th economy of the European Union (GDP $251.176 mm, 2016, 5 times that of CR).It is recognized as the 3rd least corrupt state in the world, for its highly educated population (100% literacy) and also is highlighted in various indexes related to competitiveness, and innovation among other things.
Between January and October 2014 the South American country exported 18% more fresh fruits to the European Union, as a result of the tariff benefits arising from the agreement.

The tariff benefits coming from the Free Trade Agreement between Colombia and the European Union (EU) are promoting new exports, said ProColombia.
Nicaragua, Honduras and Guatemala managed to place the product in Europe at $480 per metric ton, $120 above the price on the international market.
The auction was held under the framework of the Association Agreement between Central America and Europe. Although it was possible to place the sugar at a good price, producers had wanted to sell it for $500 per ton, said Mario Amador, general manager of the National Committee of Sugar Producers (CNPA).
From 1 January 2015 20% of their agricultural imports must be produced sustainably, a percentage which will reach 100% in 2020.
Giovanna Valverde, Director of International Affairs of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock of Costa Rica (MAG), said the move is a big challenge for domestic farmers, but especially for pineapple and melon growers, and producers of ornamental plants and foliage.
European consumers paying attention to environmental conservation matters are addressing the criticism of the palm oil production, by increasingly opting for products not containing it.

Increased preference for food free from palm oil in Europe
The growing concern by European consumers regarding the adverse environmental effects of palm oil production is leading companies to increase supply of products that are free of this fat. This has been reinforced by initiatives such as the one carried out by the environmental group Greenpeace who led a campaign against Nestle and its star product KitKat because of the use of this oil in its production.
A new regulation governing food additives in products exported to the European Union will be applied from December 1st, 2012.

Regulation (EU) No 231/2012 of the European Commission, establishing specifications for food additives listed in Annexes II and III of Regulation (CE) No. 1333/2008 of the European Parliament and Council will apply from 1st December 2012, with exceptions.
