The Regional Operating Agency is inviting bids for the execution of tests and field trials to validate and endorse parameters and control models in the SER and SEM generation units.

The transmission and distribution of electricity could be given in concession in order to reduce the losses of the National Electric Power Company (Empresa Nacional de Energía Eléctrica).
Laprensa.hn reports that "a report by the National Electricity Company (ENEE), indicates that at the end of 2012 there was an imbalance between resources and expenses, generating a deficit of $169 million, as the level expenses ($1.147 billion), both capital and current, exceeded current revenue ($979 million). This deficit was financed through the use of financial sources (transactions with financial liabilities). "
