The use of smartphones in the corporate world should be subject to data protection policies and carefully controlled by IT departments.
According to an article in elfinancierocr.com, companies must create mobile device management (MDM) policies in order to ensure information is accessed securely. An inventory of devices also needs to be kept with and provision made to enable them to accessed remotely by IT departments.
Today and tomorrow, companies from 12 countries are meeting in Costa Rica to build ties and identify potential partnerships.
The forum, organized by Costa Rica's export promotion agency (Procomer) and the Chamber of Information and Communication technologies (CAMTIC), will bring together 35 companies from Germany, Canada, China, Guatemala, USA, Spain, Mexico, Panama, Puerto Rico, the Dominican Republic and India.

During this event, which will take place on June 3 and 4, the well-know Costa Rica Technology Insight, which will celebrate its sixth edition this year will also take place.
Its 6th edition will be held in June 3 - 4 during Costa Rica’s Services Summit, a business conference organized by Procomer and CAMTIC.

Technology Insight has managed to position Costa Rica as one of the most competitive destinations in Latin America, as the consulting firm AT Kearny confirmed in its "Destination Latin America: A Near-Shore Alternative 2007" survey.

More mobility and lower operating costs: The interaction between computers and telephone services has matured and the entry costs are accessible.
The important thing is that when the return on investment is taken into account, opting for IP technology for communications is a decision increasingly favored in companies. That return on investment is not only in lower operating costs than those of telephone exchange services, but also in higher productivity.
Last year at least 82 IT companies lost a total of $72 million because they lack some 2,300 computer technicians and professionals.
