"Now the committee will evaluate proposals from five companies who qualified in the process, they are: Consorcio Hospital San José Panamá, Acciona Infraestructura, Agrupación Nuevo Hospital del Niño, Consorcio FCC-HN and Consorcio Nuevo Hospital del Niño."
Of the 24 companies present at the clarification meeting for the tender, in the end only seven presented bids.
Today it will be determined if the companies meet the requirements of the technical proposal to build the new Children's Hospital. In the next thirty days the evaluation committee must submit a report to present the winning of the award.
The project award is for best value and separate evaluation.
The winner will receive an award from Panama's CSS to manage the future hospital complex known as "Ciudad Hospitalaria" (Hospital City).
This complex is being built in the old antenna field in Chivo Chivo, on the road to the Centenario Bridge. The infrastructure will cost $587 million.
Acciona, Eulen, Aguaseo, B&G Truth Group, Vamed, Asisa Mediterránea and FCC attended the event for approving the conditions of the tender to outsource the administrative services of the complex.
Vinci Construction Grand Projets was awarded the construction of the fourth bridge over the Panama Canal for $366 million.
The French consortium offered the lowest price out of the three pre-qualified candidates, less than the $386 million from Tradeco Acciona and the $429 million from Hyundai Odebrecth.
The figure offered by the French consortium is below the official budget, said the Panama Canal Authority in a press release.
