On March 12nd Colombian entrepreneurs in the textile and clothing sector will be gathering in San Jose with Central American companies interested in offering products from the South American country.
It is expected that 70 Colombian entrepreneurs will take part in the event, to be held at the Hotel Real Intercontinental Multiplaza Mall, presenting their textile products to the Central American market.
High quality and well priced food and spirits are on the list of products for which demand has increased from Indian consumers with higher purchasing power.
From a statement issued by the Costa Rica Foreign Trade Promotion Office (PROCOMER):
The luxury market in India is growing, and it is estimated that by 2017 it will reach a value of $1.8 billion, showing a growth relative to the current level of $1.4 billion, with the categories of fashion, cars and food being the most dynamic. It follows a study by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India, Assocham and Yes Bank.
The main products exported were articles of clothing, accounting for 11% of the total, followed by sugar, with 9%, bananas, with 6%, coffee with another 6%, and precious stones and metals, with 3%.

The Bank of Guatemala has confirmed growth in exports in 2014 of more than 8.1% more than that estimated by AGEXPORT in a report relased in the second week of December last year. This growth comes from overseas sales having recorded $10.833 billion in foreign exchange.
