The union of Guatemalan merchants and the embassy of Peru signed an agreement to increase trade between the two economies.
According to figures from Banco de Guatemala, in 2017 the Central American country imported $71 million worth of goods from Peru and exported $86 million worth to the South American country.
Entrepreneurs from the South American country are interested in exporting appliances, seafood and wood products to the Nicaraguan market.
The goal of the Nicaraguan-Ecuadorian Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Commerce (Caniec) is to take full advantage of the partial scope trade agreement signed by both countries last year.
The Chamber of Commerce of Dubai will be setting up a regional office in Panama, from where it also intends to explore business in other countries of the region.

MICI 27-2-2018.The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MICI) and the Chamber of Commerce of Dubai have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment in Panama of a regional site for this organization, taking advantage of the connectivity, logistics platform and services that make us the Great Connection of Latin America, which makes us the perfect complement to Dubai, which operates as the main hub of the Middle East.
With the aim of promoting new opportunities for trade and investment, businessmen from both countries decided to create a union.
The president of the union, David Huezo, told Elmundo.sv that "... the Chamber 'will promote activities that will allow it to position itself as a national and regional reference entity in the active support and promotion of opportunities for commercial exchange with the United Kingdom'."
The aim is to promote development of new business between both countries, and increase exports from Honduras of products such as coffee, chocolate and tobacco.

Identifying business and investment opportunities between the two countries is one of the goals of the newly created business chamber.
One of the sectors that could benefit is linked to organic and natural goods production, considering that "... 'in Europe the demand for these goods increases between 15% and 20% per year and European consumers are willing to pay a premium of almost 30% if a product is labelled 'bio'," explained the Ambassador of the European Union, Stella Zervoudaki.
With the creation of the new union the aim is to promote Salvadoran exports in the European country and use it as a gateway to the rest of the continent.
Among the products identified as having potential for export to the UK are textiles, food, drinks, coffee and ornamental plants, explained David Huezo, president of the new union.
"... Additionally, Huezo recalled that by promoting business with the UK, the world's fifth largest economy, companies have a "gateway" towards the EU, a market with 500 million people with high purchasing power.
Nicaraguan entrepreneurs together with the French Embassy in the country created the union with the aim of improving and facilitating trade between the two nations.
This new institution is composed of Nicaraguans and French companies seeking to develop and create new business opportunities between the two countries. In 2014 Nicaragua exported to France about $40 million worth of products, while France sold Nicaragua about $50 million worth.
Employers have announced that January 2015 will see the opening of the Honduran -Peruvian Chamber of Commerce which will focus on facilitating business between the two countries.
With the affiliation of 32 Honduran companies, this initiative will seek to exploit business opportunities in the Peruvian market for Honduran companies.
