As of February 3rd, Avianca will begin operating a new frequency between the capital of El Salvador and the U.S. city.
The new frequency will leave El Salvador at 6:55 p.m. and arrive in Los Angeles at 10:35 p.m. The flight from the U.S. city will leave at 00:30 hours and will arrive in the Central American country at 7:19 hours.
Starting from August, Avianca plans to operate a flight between the Honduran cities of San Pedro Sula and Tegucigalpa, and Boston, in the United States.
The airline announced that on August 17 it will start running four weekly flights that will connect, via El Salvador, Honduran cities to Logan International Airport, in Boston.
Starting from October, Avianca plans to start operating a daily flight between Guatemala City and Chicago, in the United States.
On October 29, the flight connecting La Aurora Airport to Terminal A of O'Hare Chicago International Airport will start operating on board an A320 aircraft with capacity for 150 passengers, 12 in business class and 138 in economy class.
Starting in August, Avianca plans to start operating new direct routes between the Salvadoran capital and the cities of Boston and Orlando.
The airline reported that both flights will have four frequencies per week and will depart from Monsenor Óscar Arnulfo Romero and Galdámez International Airport. The flight to Orlando will be inaugurated on August 1 and the route to Boston will begin on August 17.
Avianca announced that as of July 1 it will be offering a new flight from Tegucigalpa to London via Bogota.

In line with its expansion and consolidation of its Latin America-Europe network, Avianca will be increasing its flights to London. In this way, the route will be served by a daily flight starting from July 1, adding seven weekly frequencies and promoting connectivity from Tegucigalpa through the Avianca's Connections Center in Bogota. With the operation of these three new frequencies, the airline will increase by 46% its number of seats between Colombia and the United Kingdom, promoting connectivity from different points of the route network.
Avianca has announced that it will operate two new daily flights between San Jose and Panama City, starting November 1st.

With capacity for 68 passengers and improvements in cabin service, Avianca will be starting operations from Costa Rica in a new ATR72-600 aircraft from 1 November, running two daily direct flights between Costa Rica and Panama, one in the morning and on the night and a daily direct flight between Costa Rica and Managua, Nicaragua.
The Salvadoran Civil Aviation Authority has reported that Volaris is arranging for permission to operate a flight from Mexico to Ilopango airport, in the department of San Salvador.
The airline Volaris, owned by Avianca and the siblings Roberto and Maria Cristina Kriete, has requested permission to fly between Mexico and Ilopango Air Terminal, in the department of San Salvador.
Avianca has increased from four to six the number of weekly flights from Colombia to La Aurora Airport in Guatemala City.
The flights will operate on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays using an Airbus A318 aircraft, leaving from the El Dorado airport in Bogota going to Guatemala City.
Avianca reported that two additional flights per week "... will start from July 17," according to Contrapunto.com.sv.
Starting July 6th Avianca will be operating a second direct daily flight between Augusto Sandino airport and the city of Miami in the United States.
With this extra flight there will be two direct flights from Managua to Miami operated by Avianca.
Elnuevodiario.com.Ni reports that "... the new daily frequency Managua-Miami will depart at 10:20 pm ... the return flight from the airport in Miami will be at 5:15 a.m."
Avianca has added two new daily flights between San Jose and Guatemala City.
Last week Avianca added two new daily nonstop flights between San Jose and Guatemala City.
"... The link will be operated using two Airbus A320 aircraft for 150 passengers: 12 in business class and 138 in economy class, and has a load capacity of 18,100 kilograms."
"This increase in flights means a total of 1,050 additional seats per week for the market, which equates to a capacity increase of 100%."
Avianca has inaugurated a direct route between La Aurora and El Dorado with flights on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays.
Flights will depart from Bogota to Guatemala from 13:56 to 16:13 and from Guatemala to Bogota from 16:53 to 21:03.
"With this flight we are strengthening the links between Guatemala and Colombia so as to strengthen the business relationship and encourage tourism between the two countries which share a great cultural tradition," said Avianca director for the region, Danilo Correa.
El Salvador's Vuelos Económicos Centroamericanos and Costa Rica's Ticos Air and Ticas Airlines are in various stages of preparation and registration to offer flights in the region.
Vuelos Económicos Centroamericanos (CASI) reported that it has leased two Airbus aircraft and will invest nearly $100 million in order to start operations in March 2014. The company is interested in creating a market in the low-cost segment and not competing with airlines such as Avianca and Copa, said Edgar Hasbun, CEO of the company.
As of October 18 the Panamanian airline will make three flights per week on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays to Pedasi, in the province of Los Santos.
Prensa.com reports: "The airline will use a 12-passenger Caravan aircraft, with a capacity of 2,400 pounds. Air Panama has already made a request to the International Air Transport Association to register the route and get an international code, which will include the flight in major booking engines ".
