From July 27th to 30th, the XXIV International Tasting The Best of Panama will take place virtually, in which 45 producers registered a total of 161 specialty coffee lots.

The Salvadoran Coffee Council and Alliance for Coffee Excellence announced that during March 2019 samples will be received to participate in the contest.
The organizers informed that from November 2018 to January 2019 the participants of the international quality contest "Cup of Excellence El Salvador 2019" will be trained. The period for receiving samples is from March 11th to 15th and from March 18th to 22nd, 2019.
A Taiwanese company has paid $803 for a pound of geisha coffee produced in the province of Chiriqui, surpassing the highest price of $601 paid for a grain of this type.
In the online auction 'The Best of Panama 2018', the Asian company Black Gold Coffee Co paid the highest amount per pound that has been registered for a coffee of the geisha variety, buying it from Elida Geisha Green Tip Natural which produces the grain in the District of Boquete.
The lot that this year was best quoted in the international electronic auction reached $30 thousand per hundredweight, and the grain comes from the canton of Dota, Los Santos zone, Costa Rica.
The high quality coffee that received the best quote in the international electronic auction in the Cup of Excellence contest is from the Don Cayito farm, with a price of $30,009 per hundredweight.
The batch that obtained the best score in Costa Rica comes from El Jardín de Dota, and will be one of the participants of the international online auction, to be held on July 10.

As it has not yet been possible to send the samples abroad due to the crisis felt across the country, the association of special coffees has decided to postpone the online auction until June 19.
The initial date of the electronic auction of coffee samples in the Cup of Excellence competition was scheduled to be June 5, but since samples could not be sent to international buyers, a decision was taken to postpone it by a few days.
The "Cup of Excellence" competition will take place starting from March 2, 2018, with the presentation of coffee samples, and the online auction will be held on June 5th of the same year.
To participate in the contest, coffee growers must present their coffee samples between March 2nd and 4th, 2018, for them to be evaluated by a national jury between April 3rd and 7th, and by an international jury between the 10th and 13th of the same month.
In the international auction known as "The Best of Panama", a pound of Geisha coffee from the farm La Esmeralda Cañas Verdes reached the record price of $601.
The winning bidder was the Korean company Kew Specialty Coffee Co, which offered the record price of $601 per pound of specialty coffee produced in the mountainous region of Boquete.
At the international auction, a hundredweight of Geisha coffee by Grupo Los Grandes de Copey won the first place and the sum of $8,030 was paid by an international buyer.

A sample of the grain from a farm in the municipality of Acatenango obtained the highest price in the online auction known as the Coffee Excellence Cup in Guatemala.
Angel-in-us Coffee and Maruyama Coffee Co. yesterday bought the two lots of high-quality Pacamara coffee produced in the municipality of Acatenango by the El Paraxaj estate. In the Excellence Cup online auction, the highest price was $58 per pound and the second highest was quoted at $53.41.
A sample of the grain from a farm in Jinotega obtained the highest price in the Coffee Cup of Excellence auction in Nicaragua.

A sample of the grain from a farm in the department of Chalatenango obtained the highest price, $95,7 per pound, in the Cup of Excellence coffee auction in El Salvador.

A live online auction using a certified electronic platform, was carried out by the Salvadoran Coffee Council (CSC) today, where coffee was offered and sold to buyers from different parts of the world.
The "Cup of Excellence" competition will be held from May 2, and the international auction of winning lots will take place on June 28 via the internet.
The event, which is being organized by Alliance for Coffee Excellence, begins on May 2, with the preliminary tasting of all samples that have been submitted to the Specialty Coffee Association of Costa Rica. This process will continue until May 6, and from that date 150 samples will go on to the next round, where an international jury will evaluated them between May 15 and 19.
The "Cup of Excellence" competition will be held between March 27 and May 11, and the international auction of winning lots will be held on June 22.
The event, organized by the Alliance for Coffee Excellence, begins on March 15 with the registration process and delivery of samples in the regional offices of the Honduran Coffee Institute.
