Through a syndicated loan led by Banco Atlántida, finance of $70 million will be raised for the design and construction of the international airport of Palmerola.

For a total of US $69.5 million, the company Palmerola Internacional Airport SA de CV (PIA) signed with Banco Atlántida, as agent and structurer, a Syndicated Credit Contract for the Design, Construction, Financing, Operation and Maintenance of the International Airport of Palmerola.
The current concessionaire of the air terminal has presented an application for an extension of the concession contract, and subsequently to assume works on expansion of the airport.
The company Coriport submitted an application in January to extend the concession contract it has held since 2010 for the operation of the international airport of Liberia in Guanacaste.If the proposal succeeds, the company will take on"... the renovation of the runway, construction of the taxiway for the aircraft to prepare for take-off, spaces for aircraft parking and new drains, among other things."
Consorcio Menzies Aviation, CLH Aviación S.A., Consorcio Allied Aviatión, and Consorcio Latam and Aviation Logistics submitted bids in the tender to supply aviation fuel at Tocumen International Airport.

In El Salvador, preparations are being made for a third securitization to finance the extension works at the Monseñor Romero airport terminal, and the tender will be announced in September.

The airlines claim there is a need to improve air traffic management at Tocumen airport, because "it is useless to have a new terminal if the planes cannot land."
