Four companies have submitted bids in the tender for the construction and equipping of a Public Market in Chitre whose official reference price was $27 million.
From a press release issued by the Government of Panama:
A total of four companies submitted proposals for the construction and equipping of a Public Market in Chitre, in the tender organized by the Secretariat of the Cold Chain, a work which is being conducted by the government and will benefit over 60,000 people in the region of Azuero .
Ten consortia have submitted bids for the construction and equipping of the Public Market and Food Market of La Chorrera.
With a reference price of $25 million, bids ranged from the $22.5 million offered by the Spanish consortium Acciona Infrastructures to $27.4 million offered by Cocige SA.
"HPC Contratas, IBT, Elecnor, Heymocol Procomon, Consultores Profesionales de Inginiera, FCC Construccion and Semi y Omega are the other groups interested in this best value tender. The evaluation committee will have five days to analyze the proposals", reported Prensa.com.
The new contract includes both the public market for $10 million, and also the construction of the Abasto Market for $15 million.
Maitin Yessica, administrator of the Cold Chain informed companies involved that they may clarify aspects of the tender in the approval meeting scheduled for October 17, 2011.
Bids will be received on Wednesday October 26 between 10:00 am and 11:00 am
Omega Engineering Inc. has been awarded the contract to build and equip the new site for the public market in the city of Colon.
The official reference price for the Colon market was $18 million and the Omega Consortium,offered $ 17,779 000.
"In the best value tender with a reference price of $18 million, bids from Constructora Urbana, S.A., (Cusa), and Construcciones Civiles Generales, S.A.", were disqualified ", reported Prensa.com
The Ministry of the Presidency has put out to tender the construction and equipment of a public market in Colon City, Colon Province.
The scope of work to be performed by the contractor is, but not limited to:
1. Building and equipment for the work embodied in the designs of the final plans presented by MARKET CENTRAL SUPPLY, SA (MERCASA) for the Public Market in the City of Colon, with all the requirements indicated in the studies, design, final plans and specifications which are given in the terms of reference.
The consortium Panamá Frío has won the contract for the design, construction, equipping and commissioning of an Integrated Cold Chain Logistics System in Panama.
The Venezuelan consortium's offer was the only one received and exceeded by $5 million the reference price of $70 million.
After receiving the order to proceed, the consortium will have 24 months to complete the works.
The $70 million tender includes the design, construction, equipping and commissioning of an Integrated Cold Chain Logistics System.
The purpose of the tender is to design a system of integrated Cold Chain logistics, which begins from receipt of the post-harvest product, which then passes through modern value-added processes and safety procedures in post-harvest Management Centres, utilizes appropriate refrigerated transport systems and ends with delivery to final consumer outlets.
Seven consortia have submitted bids for the construction and equipping of a market in Panama City, a project worth over $100 million.
The company's suppliers and their proposals are: Facilities and Services SACODEPO ($118, 900,000), SA Sacyr ($126,447,000), MCM Global ($124,999,000), Assignia-Cocige ($126,495,000), SA-Cleop Elecnor SA ($109,968,000), Omega Engineering ($126,500,000) and the Consortium Arranz kinase-Riva SA ($120,240,000).
The consortium Panamá Frío, composed of locally owned firms and some of Venezuelan capital, set its price at $93.5 million
A statement by the Presidency of Panama reads:
“Consorcio Panamá Frío, of Venezuelan and Panamanian capital, submitted the only bid for 93 million 500 thousand dollars, in an act of reception of proposals held in the Office of the President and chaired by the executive secretary of Panamá Frío, Fernando Soto Duque, in the presence of the managing director, Yessica de Maitin .
The Ministry of the Presidency is putting out to tender the design, construction and implementation of an integrated cold chain logistics system.
The purpose of the contract is to modernize the current system of collection and distribution of perishable food products in both production and consumption areas in the country.
The target date for submission of proposals is June 29, 2011.
The consortium Cleop, S.A-Mejores Acabados S.A., has been awarded the construction and equipping of the new David public market in Panama.
This infrastructure, which forms an integral part of the Cadena de Frío (Cold Chain) project will allow butchers, vegetable vendors and hawkers to conduct their business safely and with allow more space for users to buy safely, and in hygienic conditions.

The Ministry of the Presidency by using the tender system hopes to hire one firm to carry out the both the construction work and equip the market after reviewing the results of the final designs and plans undertaken by the Central Markets Supply Company, Inc. (MERCASA).
