Because of the quarantine decreed by the health emergency resulting from the outbreak of covid-19, in Honduras the mobility of consumers in residential areas rebounded, since at the beginning of May the trend registered an increase of 24% compared to what was reported at the end of February.

The imposition of a curfew had a great influence, since as of May 9 in the country there was a decrease in the number of people who moved in locations identified as supermarkets or pharmacies, reporting -58% variation from the levels recorded in the last week of February.

According to this drop in visits to supermarkets, interest in e-commerce has increased in recent weeks. The interactive report details that in the Honduran market, the long term trend associated with the theme of e-commerce services, has registered a sustained increase since the beginning of 2019, and in the case of the short-term trend, this has rebounded from January 26th.

Consumer interactions associated with products that help with weight loss are among the trends that have gained the most ground in recent weeks. The figures show that the short-term trend has picked up since March 29.

The data explain that the short-term trend in this context of confinement and change in consumer habits, the interest in electronic accessories has increased. The rebound begins to be evident from February 16.
