Tourism Wholesalers From Brazil Tour Panama

A group of 140 wholesalers arrived in Panama as part of an agreement between the airline Copa and the Tourism Authority of Panama.

"In addition to the sights of the capital city, Brazilian operators toured Bocas del Toro where they saw the attractions of this province.

Apart from the flights offered by Copa Airlines in October charter flights will start arriving from Brazil", reported Pensa.com

COPA airlines currently makes 74 flights a week to the South American country, with direct flights to seven cities.

The airline is in the process organizing more flights to Brazil the with Panamanian authorities anticipating an increase in demand.

A group of German wholesale travel agents will be meeting with local tour operators to explore business opportunities.

From a statement issued by the Panamanian Tourism Authority:

A total of 11 German tour operators from the Lufthansa City Center chain will be staying for a week in Panama in order to familiarize themselves with the tourist market and set up tour packages including destinations in our country.

Minister of Tourism, Ruben Blades, will travel to Berlin, London, and Amsterdam shortly in order to negotiated more flights to Panama.

To date, they have reached out to Virgin Atlantic, British Airways, Air France, Lufthansa and KLM. KLM has been offering direct flights to Panama from Amsterdam since March and will increase the frequency to 5 flights per week in December. "They hope to reach 7 per week," added Blades .
