Who is Building and What is being Built in Guatemala

An office building, an apartment tower, the expansion of a shopping center and a supermarket are some of the projects for which environmental impact studies were submitted in August 2016.

The report "Construction Projects in Guatemala - August 2016", prepared by the Business Intelligence Unit at CentralAmericaData.com, provides an up to date list of major construction projects for which environmental impact assessment (EIA) studies were presented in February to the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources of Guatemala.

Details of some of the projects:

Inversiones y Construcciones Inmobiliarias, S.A. submitted an EIA to build, in Zone 9 of Guatemala City, a building with 7 basements and 12 levels above street level. The project called "Grand Reforma 10" will house office and retail spaces, and according to the document $13,513,514 will be invested in it.

GDU, S.A. presented an EIA to build, in Zone 15 of Guatemala City, an apartment building with 9 levels that will have a total of 73 apartments and 144 parking spaces. According to the study $7,000,000 will be invested in development called "Construcción y Operación de Edificio de Apartamentos Avenik".

Operadora de Tiendas, S.A. presented an EIA to build, in the municipality of Barberena, department of Santa Rosa, a supermarket that will have warehouses, cold rooms, parking for 60 vehicles, and loading and unloading areas. The project is called "Maxi Despensa Barberena" and according to the study and an investment of $5,854,523 is estimated.
