Which Companies Built Public Works in 2018?

Constructora Meco, V&T S.A., Ingeniería REC and Constructora Rodsa are some of the companies that in 2018 were awarded contracts to build public infrastructure works in Central America.

An analysis compiled by the Trade Intelligence unit at CentralAmericaData provides data on the companies that during the last year were awarded by the governments of the region, with contracts to execute construction works in Central American countries.

The information system specifies that among the main constructors of public infrastructure in Costa Rica are Constructora Meco, Constructora Gonzalo Delgado, Constructora Herrera and Consorcio Codocsa.

According to the data collected, in Guatemala V&T S.A., Marqsa Constructora, Corporación General de Tractores, Inmobiliaria los Jengibres and Cablan S.A., are among the companies that according to the amount awarded, obtained the best contracts last year.

In Panama, some of the main companies contracted by the government were Ingeniería REC, Centralmix, Transeq, Conalvias Construcciones, Constructora Rodsa and Constructora Meco, among others.

CentralAmericaData has information on the construction projects to be developed in Central America, with details such as estimated investment, times and phases of the project, supplies and equipment that will be required during and after construction, water treatment, and parking structure, among other things.

Award: Urban Development Works for $66 million

A contract has been awarded in Panama to Ingeniería Rec, SA for studies, design and construction of a building project with infrastructure called "Urbanization San Antonio" in the province of Veraguas.

In the tender for the supply of materials, labor, equipment and administration for studies, design and project construction of buildings and infrastructure for the "Urbanización de San Antonio" project located in the village of San Antonio, district of Atalaya, province of Veraguas, the company INGENIERIA REC, S.A. submitted a bid of $65.8 million, which competed with proposals from CONSTRUCTORA MECO, S.A., CONSTRUCCIONES CIVILES GENERALES S.A., ASINCRO PANAMA CORPORATION and that of Constructora San José (Panama Branch) S.A., who bid $66.9 million, $62.3 million, $58.1 million, and $56.2 million respectively.
