The interest in Greek gastronomy, the practice of triathlon and the reading of electronic books are some of the characteristics of the consumers who have a high purchasing power in Costa Rica.

An analysis of consumer interests and preferences in Costa Rica, prepared by the Trade Intelligence Unit of CentralAmericaData, provides interesting results on the preferences and tastes of people who express interest in different types of products or activities.

The interactive information system shows that the population with the highest average income in the country is interested in e-books, comic books, romantic novels and fiction. When each segment is analyzed, it can be seen that 7% of the population shows interest in comics, and of this group of consumers, 7 out of every 10 are between 15 and 30 years old.

Regarding sports, the report details that consumers with the highest average income in the country show interest in golf, triathlon, snowboarding, skiing and car racing. When each segment is analyzed, it can be seen that 5% of people show interest in car racing, and of this group of people, 7 out of every 10 are between 21 and 45 years old.

Regarding the type of restaurants that interest this market segment, the report explains that the population with the highest average income in the country shows interest in Indian, Thai, German, Greek, and French cuisine. When each segment is analyzed, it is noted that 2% of the population shows interest in Thai food, and of this group of consumers, 8 out of 10 are between 21 and 45 years old.
