An analysis of consumer interests and preferences in Guatemala, compiled by CentralAmericaData's Trade Intelligence Unit, provides interesting results on the characteristics and people who express interest in cuisine and gastronomy from different countries and styles. The population with the highest average income in the country shows interest in German, Greek, Italian, Vietnamese, Middle Eastern and Japanese cuisine. When analyzing each segment, it can be seen that 10% of the population is interested in Italian food, and of this group of consumers, 8 out of 10 are between 21 and 45 years old.

2% of the population is interested in German cuisine, and 34% of these consumers are between 31 and 45 years old.

On the other hand, the analysis details that the population with lower consumption capacity expresses interest in Korean, Mexican, Latin, French and Chinese food.

When analyzing the general population, it is observed that 20% show preference for Mexican food, and 70% of that segment is between 15 and 30 years old. On the other hand, 16% of all consumers in the country are interested in Chinese food, and of that group, 7 out of 10 are between 21 and 45 years old.

In the case of French cuisine, for example, 9% of Guatemalans report interest in this type of cuisine, and of that portion of the population, 45% are between 31 and 59 years old.
