What Car Brands are Circulating in Central America?

In the first months of 2018 about 30% of the cars in circulation were of the brands Mitsubishi, Mazda, Chevrolet, Ford, Suzuki, Volkswagen and KIA.

Data from the report "Vehicle Fleet in Central America" compiled by the Business Intelligence Unit at CentralAmericaData, provides details on the characteristics of the different vehicles that transit the streets of Central American countries.

By brand at the regional level
Of the total number of automobile vehicles in circulation in countries in the region, approximately 55% correspond to the Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan and Honda brands.

According to records on the Central American vehicle fleet, in the first months of 2018 about 30% of the cars in circulation were of the brands Mitsubishi, Mazda, Chevrolet, Ford, Suzuki, Volkswagen and KIA.

According to brand and country
Of the total number of automobile vehicles in circulation in Costa Rica at the beginning of the year, 71% corresponded to the brands Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan, Suzuki, Honda and Mitsubishi.

In the case of Guatemala, the brands that predominate are Toyota, Mazda, Honda, Mitsubishi, Nissan and Hyundai, as they account for nearly 68% of the total number of units in circulation. 

For its part, Panama reports that the Toyota, Hyundai, Nissan, Kia and Honda brands represent 71% of the total number of automobile-type units.
