Vehicles: Brands and Figures in Mexico

About 30% of all cars in circulation in the country are estimated to be Volkswagen, Dodge, Toyota and Honda.

An analysis compiled by CentralAmericaData's Trade Intelligence Unit, based on data from several information sources, provides interesting figures on the characteristics, brands and models of the automobiles that circulate on the streets of Mexico City.

Other brands concentrating a considerable number of cars in the country are General Motors, Mazda, Chrysler, Pontiac, Renault and Seat, with approximately 9% of reported units in circulation.

Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Kia, Peugeot, Mercedes Benz, Suzuki, BMW, Audi and Fiat, are other brands that also appear in the Mexican fleet, but with a smaller share in the total.

Nissan, Ford and Chevrolet, are the brands concentrating the largest number of automobile type units, and details on the specific market share of each is covered in the full report.

The study states that among the most demanded car models in the Mexican market are Jetta, Sentra, Versa, Fiesta, Civic and March.
