Panamanian Companies, Main Buyers
From January to March 2020, the main importer of human vaccines in Central America was Panama, with $8 million, followed by Costa Rica, with $7 million, Honduras and Guatemala, with $4 million each, Nicaragua, with $3 million, and El Salvador, with one million.

Three of the six countries recorded year-on-year increases in their purchases. In Costa Rica, imports increased by 1,476%, while in Guatemala and Nicaragua the increases were 76% and 14%, respectively.

Honduras, El Salvador and Panama were the markets that registered negative variations, reporting declines of 41%, 81% and 83%, respectively.

Variation in Regional Business
Between January and March 2019 and the same period in 2020, the value imported into the region decreased considerably, from $66 million to $28 million.

In contrast to the general behavior, for the periods in question, purchases from companies in the U.S. increased from $1.6 million to $4 million.

US, Main Supplier
As of March this year, 31% of the value imported into the region came from the US, 17% from the Netherlands, 14% from Belgium, 14% from South Korea and 7% from Russia.
