Upcoming Construction Projects in Costa Rica

A wind farm, buildings for office and commercial use and residential developments are some of the projects for which environmental impact studies were presented in July 2016.

The report "Construction Projects in Costa Rica in July 2016," prepared by the Business Intelligence Unit at CentralAmericaData.com, provides an updated list of major construction projects for which environmental impact studies (EIS) were presented to the National Environmental Technical Secretariat (SETENA).

RBT Trust Services Limitada  presented an EIA for a mixed development comprising of 267 houses, 200 apartments and a shopping center, to be located in the district of San Antonio, county and province of Alajuela. The project is called "Condominio Distrito Ciruelas" and according to the document the investment amount is $14,500,000.

Hedwig Und Robert Samuel Stiftung presented an EIA to build, in Goicochea in the province of San Jose, a building for offices and commercial use, with capacity to accommodate a daily population of 2,000 employees in offices plus another 2,000 circumstantial consumers in shopping areas and a food court. The project is called "Indigo Plaza Comercial y Oficinas" and according to the study the investment amount is $12,000,000.

Centro Energético La Fortuna S.A. presented an EIA to build a wind farm with capacity to generate 20,000 kW in the county of Bagaces, province of Guanacaste. The project is called "Proyecto Eólico Palo Negro" and the amount of investment is estimated at $32,160,000.
