Two New Pacific Shipping Services

MSC shipping announced 2 new services connecting North, Central and South America on the Pacific coast.

In a press release, MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company said that the service called "Puma" will run between the US, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Panama. It will connect the ports of Balboa, Long Beach, Oakland, Manzanillo and Puerto Caldera with weekly services and Salina Cruz, Mazatlan, Quetzal and Acajutla every two weeks. This service will begin operations on April 29.

The service called "Condor" will link Panama to Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, connecting the ports of Balboa, Callao, Paita, Guayaquil and Buenaventura and it will begin to operate on April 17.

Both services will be connected via the Balboa port.

The Mediterrean Shipping Company Mexico has announced the activation of its system of alliances with Colombian and Costa Rican ports in order to give special attention to ships with refrigerated cargo of chicken and eggs.

Through the program the company is making available to Mexico their ship’s continental routes to aid in the supply of eggs and chicken in the face of effects of the outbreak of bird flu detected in the state of Jalisco.

Salvadoran Port of La Union Reactivated

The port terminal has received the first vessel from the shipping line APL Singapore.

The shipping company APL, Singapore together with Hamburg Süd, Germany, included the port of La Union its new route linking the west coast of South America, Central America, Mexico and the United States.
