Transit Through Tocumen Up 26%

During the first quarter of 2013, 2.4 million passengers transited through the Tocumen International Airport, while in the same period last year the figure was 1.9 million.

For 2013 it has been estimated that about 7.5 million passengers will pass through the airport, up from 6.8 million in 2012.

"Once the South Terminal has been completed, Tocumen will be able to handle 15 million people a year", reported Prensa.com.

"Tocumen airport is competing with the airport in Bogota, Colombia and Lima, Peru, as the main hubs of the region.

Tocumen: 16% More Passengers in January

In January, 695,830 people used Tocumen International Airport in Panama, 16% more than in the same month last year.

Estimations are that this year, about 7.5 million people will pass through the terminal, surpassing the 6.8 million who came through it in 2012.

Furthermore, last January 9462 operations were performed, counting incoming and outgoing flights as well as 586 cargo operations.

Traffic through Tocumen Increases 10%

In the first quarter of the year, the quantity of passengers that passed through the main airport of Panama was 1,569,326.

The number of passengers in transit increased by 31.2% compared to the same period of the previous year.
