In 2016 imports of tractors into Central American countries totaled $165 million, and the value imported from Brazil grew by 24% compared to 2015.

Main importers  
The main importers in the region in 2016 include Matra, Colono Agropecuario, Grupo Melo, International, Saturnia and General de Equipos. Altogether they account for approximately 18% of the total bought by Central American countries.

Variation of regional imports 
Between 2015 and 2016, the value of imported tractors in Central America declined slightly, going from $167 million in 2015 to $165 million in 2016. 

The value imported from Brazil increased by 24%, growing from $13 million in 2015 to $16 million in 2016.

Imports by country 
In 2016, the main importer in Central America was Guatemala with $55 million, followed by Costa Rica with $42 million, Nicaragua with $22 million, Panama with $20 million, Honduras with $16 million and El Salvador with $11 million. 

Origin of imports 
In 2016, 51% of the value imported from Central America came from the US, 23% from Mexico, 9% from Brazil and 5% from Italy.
