Tourists Arrivals Up 9.6% in Costa Rica

1,124,000 tourists visited Costa Rica in the first six months of the year, 9.6% more than the same period of 2009.

The Tourism Institute of Costa Rica estimates that around 2 million tourists will visit the nation in 2010.

Increased Tourist Arrivals in Nicaragua

Information from the Nicaraguan Tourism Institute, INTUR reveals that 694,906 tourists came into the country up to July, representing an increase of 11.5% compared to the same period in 2011.

Data from the Nicaraguan Tourism Institute, INTUR reveals that up to July of this year 694,906 tourists came to Nicaragua, representing an increase of 11.5 percent compared to the same period last year, said the executive vice president of the governing institution of Tourism in Nicaragua, Mayra Salinas.

Tourism Up 17% in First Half 2010

From January to June 2010 a total of 4.556.526 tourists visited Central America, 651.682 more than the same period of 2009.

Tourism has grown in Central America during the first six months of the year by 17% over the same period of 2009, according to preliminary data offered by the various Ministries of Tourism in the region (Belize, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua and Panama).

Costa Rica tourism to growth by 8 or 9%

The National Chamber of Tourism in Costa Rica expects that the sector will grow between 8 and 9% this year, an increase which as been labeled as "satisfactory" in an environment of financial crisis at the world level.

The president of Canatur, Gonzalo Vargas, said that "its is not the same as the growth rate in 2007 (11%), but taking current conditions into consideration, having a growth rate of 8 o 9% is more than satisfactory." The businessman added that tourism at the world level has been growing at an average of 2%, which is why he was happy that Costa Rica is going to obtain a rate that "is 3 or 4 times higher than the global average.

Costa Rica's tourism retains its shine

Tourist arrivals in Costa Rica grew by 12.5 percent over last year during the first half of the year.

The Tourism Chamber said in a prepared statement that in the first six months of 2008 just over 1 million tourists arrived by air, an increase of almost 90,000 over the first half of 2007.
