The W Costa Rica hotel, which will offer a total of 151 rooms and is located in Guanacaste, reported that it plans to start operations in November of this year.
However, the company reported this Tuesday morning, July 24 that "... Florida Ice & Farm (Fifco) is successfully making progress in the construction of a new hotel in Guanacaste, W Costa Rica, within the Reserva Conchal real estate complex," and that operations could start in November.
In relation to the type of construction carried out by the company, Gisela Sánchez, Director of Corporate Relations at Fifco, explained to Nacion.com that "...'Highlights include the carbon neutrality certifications, the Ecological Blue Flag, a waste recovery center for recycling, the environmental education program at the Playa Conchal Wildlife Refuge and the installation of the largest solar system in the North Pacific involving 1,382 solar panels, with an investment of $350,000."
The W Costa Rica, Reserva Conchal will be operated by the prestigious American company Starwood Hotels & Resorts (Starwood), according to a contract signed between the parties involved.The project includes, among other things, the development of the following facilities: 151 rooms, the "W Living Room", a specialty restaurant, bar and lounge, infinity horizon pool, spa and convention center.

The project consisting of 7 hotels with 855 rooms and condominiums to be built in the Papagayo Peninsula, Costa Rica, will be developed by the Costa Rican company Florida Ice and Farm.
According to a file submitted by the company Florida Ice and Farm (Fifco) to the Technical Environmental Secretariat, the project will require $467 million to be invested in five phases running up to 2022 and includes, in addition to hotels and residences, "... the building of four beach clubs, a community center, an equestrian center, a golf course, lakes and 165.3 acres to be preserved as a private reserve. Since May 1 the hotel firm has been operating its first international all-inclusive hotel.
The hotel, located in Playa Conchal Province of Guanacaste, is operated by the SolMelia chain.
