According to the Monthly Economic Activity Index (IVAE), developed by the Central Bank of El Salvador, retail was the single worst performing economic sector during 2009.

The bank remarked that several sectors recovered during March 2010, including commerce, finance, manufacture and agriculture.

Toshiba strengthens its regional team in Central America

With a greater increase in sales, the company decided to strengthen its regional work team with the appointment of a Retail Manager for six Central American countries.

Javier Garita, who resides in San Jose, Costa Rica, was officially named to take up the post last July.
In addition to this appointment and in order to consolidate its presence in the retail market, in the next few months Toshiba will focus on increasing its ties to the stores that currently form a part of its retail distribution channel the region's countries.
