Tocumen: 16% More Passengers in January

In January, 695,830 people used Tocumen International Airport in Panama, 16% more than in the same month last year.

Estimations are that this year, about 7.5 million people will pass through the terminal, surpassing the 6.8 million who came through it in 2012.

Furthermore, last January 9462 operations were performed, counting incoming and outgoing flights as well as 586 cargo operations.

"Once the new south terminal is enabled, the airport will have the capacity to handle 15 million passengers. The first stage of the new extension should be operational by mid-2014. The company Norberto Odebrecht is conducting the soil studies project which will cost $679.4 million," reported Prensa.com.
