The value of Nicaraguan exports grows

The Export and Investment Center (CEI) expects that the country's exports at the end of the current year will reach a total value of $1.5 billion.

Robert Brenes, General Manager of CEI, says that in reality, during the first six months of the year, there was an increase of 30% in exports in relation the same period in 2007, especially in exports to the United States, which is Nicaragua's main trading partner. This was closely followed by exports to the other countries in Central America.

Nicaragua: Exports Up 19%

The total value of exports for November was $2.524 billion, 18.71% higher than in the same period of 2011.

According to the Center for Export Procedures (Cetrex), if the rate of growth is maintained, foreign sales at the end of this year could exceed $2.7 billion.

Twenty products accounted for 87.9% of the $2.524 billion in exports, which included coffee, sugar cane, beef, shrimp farming, raw gold and peanuts.

Nicaraguan Exports Increase 15%

In the first seven months of the year, exports showed a significant increase in volume (14.9%) and value (13.3%), compared to the same period in 2011.

According to the Data Processing Center for Exports (Cetrex), at the end of July, the total value of exports was $1.635 million.

Guatemala: Sales on the Isthmus grow by 24.9%

Enrique Zamora, President of the Association of Producers and Exporters of Nicaragua (APEN), confirmed that 35-40% of the growth is due to improved prices for their products in the international market, and 15% due to the increase in volume.
