The US is the main destination for Nicaraguan exports

During the first 9 months of this year $371.3 million were exported to the United States

After the US, the other main destinations for Nicaraguan sales are El Salvador and Honduras with $174.2 million and $84.8 million respectively, the Center for Export Processes (Cetrex) reported.
Exports from January to September 2008 totaled $1.3 billion, while for the first nine months of 2007 they were $984.5 million; this is equivalent to a growth of 34.45%, the organisation said.

Panamanian Exports Change Destination

In the last three years the United States has ceased to be the main destination for Panama's exports.

Figures from the Controller General's Office indicate that the total exports to the U.S. have dropped by almost half since 2008, going from $434.8 million to $211.4 million in 2010.

Nicaragua boosts exports to US by 18 percent

Nicaragua's exports to the United States rose by 18 percent in this year's first quarter, compared with the same period of last year.

Paul Trivelli, the US ambassador to Managua, said the increase was a result of the introduction of Cafta. Nicaragua exported goods worth US$417 million to the United States in the first quarter.

Guatemala's exports to the United States increase

In the first three months of this year, Guatemala exported 849.77 million dollars worth of goods to the United States, an 11.71 per cent increase over the same period of 2007, despite the prospect of a slowdown in the U.S. economy.

However, as the experts predicted, not all products shared in the growth. Some, like agricultural products, did well and others, like manufacturing, did poorly.
