The Salvadoran Hardware Market

National chains and the Venezuelan chain EPA, which recently entered the market, are jockeying for position in the market.

Thursday, July 14, 2011

In light of rumors about the opening a new store by the Venezuelan EPA chain, the national chains Freund and Vidrí, are intensifing their campaigns in order to position their brands.

In contrast, the Goldtree chain is closing the last of the eight branches it had in the country, in a final act of liquidating its merchandise.

"While on one side of the industry there is sadness at the other end there is optimism. Less than a year after having invested some $12 million in its first store, plans are afoot to build a second EPA in the west of the capital.

The information has been confirmed with employees, who are already aware of recruitment processes for the new branch", noted an article in Elsalvador.com.
