Main importers  
Among the main importers of beauty and personal hygiene products in Guatemala are BDF Centramérica, Belcorp, Avon Products, Colgate-Palmolive, Unilever, Pricesmart and Procter & Gamble, which account for approximately 45% of the imported value. 

Changes in imports  
Between 2015 and 2016, the imported value of beauty and personal hygiene products in Guatemala decreased by 4%, falling from $108 million in 2015 to $104 million in 2016. 

Despite this fall in total value, imports from the United States and Colombia grew by 13% and 6% respectively. Imports from the North American country grew from $16 million in 2015 to $18 million in 2016, and in the case of Colombia, they rose from $14 million in 2015 to $15 million in 2016.

Origin of imports 
Last year 43% of the value imported from Guatemala came from Mexico, 17% from the United States, 14% from Colombia, 4% from Panama and 3% from Germany. 

The United States and Colombia are the source markets for imports that have grown the most in the last 5 years.  In 2012, the North American and South American countries represented 13% and 8% of the total imported value, and last year the figure reached 17% and 14%.
