The Foreign Trade Promotion Office of Costa Rica has presented its report on the work of 2012, in a document entitled Institutional Report 2012.

From a letter from the CEO introducing the report:

The 2012 was an important year for Costa Rican foreign trade. The sustained growth of exports remained its rhythm and reached a rate of 8.9% in real terms, being U.S. $11.298 billion

For this year, 2504 direct exporters managed to place 4562 of their products in 147 countries.

Similarly, exports of services totaled U.S. $4.248 billion as of September 2012, which is an 11.8% increase compared with the same month in 2011.

The sum of the international business represents spoliation of U.S. $16.875 billion, which represents a historical record for the national economy and is more than the export targets, being 107% of what was proposed for this year.

In this context, PROCOMER's assistance to the foreign trade sector is essential. Through means of commercial information services, consulting and specialized training sessions, business advocacy, and facilitation and simplification of procedures, businesses trust PROCOMER to ensure success in their internationalization projects.
