The fast food market in Costa Rica is not showing signs, at least for now, of being saturated. The constant opening of new points of sale by different chains reflects the growth potential that this segment of the restaurant market still has.

"Taco Bell, Popeyes, Subway, McDonald's, KFC, Burger King, Quiznos and Teriyaki are some of the companies that opened in 2015, 2016 and so far in 2017, but more inaugurations are also planned before the end of this year. One of the fastest growing brands is Subway, which has opened 16 new outlets in the last 32 months and plans to open four more from August to December. For its part, Taco Bell opened four stores in 2015, one in 2016 and closed 2017 with six new outlets, in total."

Wendy Madriz, corporate communications supervisor at Arcos Dorados Costa Rica (McDonald's), told Nacion.com that "... by the second half of 2017, they plan to have more options within the GAM." Our plan is to continue exploring growth in order to be present in every more points nationwide."
