The Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure is putting out to tender a two-lane extension of a 12-kilometer section of the road to Nuevo León, and the construction of cycle lanes and marginal streets.

In a print publication, the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure announced the tender to improve the access roads to Managua, through the highways Nuevo León and Norte.
Laprensa.com.ni reports that "...In these announcements it was clarified that in addition to doubling the two existing lanes of the Nueva LeonRoad by a length of 11.81 kilometers, cycle paths, space for mototaxis and marginal streets will be constructed; and that in the other access road a six-lane stretch of 1.4 kilometers will be extended (between the Free Zones Las Mercedes and La Garita) and from La Garita towardsTipitapa will become four lanes."
"...In order to gain space, in a part of this last section the existing median will be eliminated and to separate the roadway concrete barriers will be erected, known in the construction field as a jersey."
The opening of offers is scheduled for September 25 this year.
In Panama a contract has been endorsed with the construction company MECO to renovate a stretch of ten kilometers of the Transístmica highway to integrate the public transport system with the Metro.
The tender documents indicate that the project consists of a length of approximately 10 kilometers, whose studies and designs start at the intersection with Ave.
The Ministry of Public Works has announced that next week the requirements for the tender for the design and expansion to eight lanes of the Bridge of the Americas - Via Centenario -Arraiján will be published.
It is estimated that the public tender act will be made by September, and the order to proceed could be given in the last quarter of this year.
Tender specifications are beign prepared for work on the expansion to four lanes of several sections of roads and construction of 200 kms of roads and internal roads in the district of La Chorrera.

During the Cabinet Council held in the school Moisés Castillo Ocaña in La Chorrera, the Minister of Public Works, Ramon Arosemena Crespo announced the widening to four lanes from the Market of La Chorrera to the Nicolas Solano Hospital, and also the expansion to four lanes of the road going from the old road to sector Vacamonte.
The signing of a trust by President Solis marks the beginning of the preparation of the tenders for the design and construction of the 69 kilometer road between San Jose and San Ramon.
For the creation of the trust between the banking entities and the National Roads Council they took into account state banks, pension operators and the National Insurance Institute.
