The tender is for supply and installation of wind measurement stations, technical assistance, data analysis and delivery of spare parts.

Due to increased demand for electrical power and the need to diversify the energy matrix, through the use of clean and renewable energy sources, the Executive Hydroelectric Commission of the Lempa River (CEL) since 2004 has been conducting studies to identify the wind resource potential in El Salvador.

Studies have been conducted in various parts of the country,
selected through the cooperation of the regional project "Solar and Wind Energy Assessment" (SWERA) and the Energy and Environment Partnership with Central America (EEP).

The purpose of the tender is to supply and install eight wind measurement stations, provide technical assistance and data analysis, supply and install sensors and measuring equipment at existing stations, and supply spare parts.

Scheduled date for receipt of bids is August 28, 2012.
