Costa Rica: New Format for Tire Tender

May 2017

The Costa Rican Social Security Fund has announced a new tender mechanism to buy tires for 1,747 vehicles owned by the institution.

From a  statement issued by the Costa Rican Social Security Department:

The Board of Directors of the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) has decided to purchase the tires for the 1,747 institutional vehicles under a framework agreement that will achieve an economy of scale which will generate savings of ¢132.2 million in one year alone; this process could be extended for three more periods, which would generate projected savings of ¢528 million.
