Friday, March 9, 2012

"The specifications have already been developed and will be forwarded to the Commission on Public Private Partnership, along with the relevant contract, as it will require the approval of this entity in order to continue with the procedure. The Municipal Corporation (San Pedro Sula) must see the specifications, approve them and also declare the project of public interest," reported LaPrensa.hn.

So far no date has been set, nor has the precise amount of the award been determined, but the Municipal Corporation authorities admit that this project is needed urgently in order to organize urban transport, improve vehicular and pedestrian flow, and organize street vendors.

It is estimated that there will be about 873 parking spaces. The firm running the contract must respect hydrant areas and each space will measure 5.40 meters long and 2.40 meters wide.
