Companies with radio communication permits must migrate to digital technologies before 31 December 2020.

Executive Order 39491 of December 2015 requires that companies that have permits to use radio equipment must make an investment in order to move from analog technology to digital systems before 31 December 2020.

Honduras Needs to Replace Aircraft Communication Equipment

November 2013

The Civil Aviation Authority in Honduras has requested the allocation of $20 million to upgrade its air communications equipment.

The request came after some aviation companies complained of continuing air traffic incidents due to poor navigation systems.

The proposal was presented to President Porfirio Lobo by Raquel Adolfo Quan, Minister of Public Works and Manuel Enrique Caceres, chief of the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). "It's an investment of about $20 million which includes the National Weather Service, which is also becoming degraded, and is an ambitious one, said Caceres.
